M: No!

Millie squeaked, her face flushing bright red again.

M: I mean, not that I wouldn't ask you out, I'm just wondering. That's all. Why, would that be bad if I did? Of course it would, everyone would shun me. No offense.

R: No, same. Going out with a Puff? That would be disastrous for my social life.

Seeming to flinch, Millie frowned at him.

M: There's nothing wrong with Hufflepuffs...

R: My friends would disagree.

M: Why?

She demanded.

M: What's so bad about being kind, loyal, and dedicated? Is it because it's the exact opposite of you guys?

R: Hey! I said them, not me!

M: Sorry.

Millie muttered.

M: Your friends are stupid. No offense.

S: I totally agree.

M: Then why are you friends with them? Why don't you just make up with Sirius about whatever it is you guys always argue about and befriend him and his group?

R: Too late. I'm set in my ways and very proud.

M: I know that.

Millie muttered to herself.

M: Okay, fine, whatever.

She plopped back down on the stone bench.

R: Stop being grumpy, it doesn't suit you.

M: I can be grumpy if I want. I'm a girl. I'm allowed to pout.

She glowered at the ground.

M: What are you going as, for Halloween?

R: I don't know, Phantom of the Opera, maybe

M: That's cool. I'm not telling you what I'm going as. It's going to be a surprise.

Her smile was on her lips again.

R: I don't recall asking.

M: Yeah, well, I was just putting that out there in case you were going to.

R: Rest assured, I wasn't. It's over a month away, anyway.

M: Doesn't hurt to be prepared.

She mumbled sheepishly, looking down at her legs, which were stretched out in front of her. It's not like she was excited about going there or anything, or seeing him. Heh. Because that would be crazy.

Millie was quiet. She looked out over the lake, noting how weirdly dark it looked. It gave her the shivers.

R: Shit, I should go, lessons and stuff.

M: Right.

Millie had an expression like she had just been shaken out of a dream.

M: Right, I- yeah, me too.

Not really, she had frees for the rest of the day. She stood up and slung her bag over her shoulder, trying to make it look like she was in a rush.

M: Um, it was nice hanging out with you.

R: You too.

He just left.
