R: My hair?

He smirked.

M: Yeah. It's- it's nice.

She was blushing madly.

M: Kind of...better than Sirius', actually.

R: Obviously I agree. Would it help if you closed your eyes?

M: Help what? Oh, the spells.

Millie looked at him almost nervously before she closed her eyes. She thought 'lumos' with a little more force, then gave a soft gasp and opened her eyes when light tipped her wand.

M: It worked! You're brilliant!

R: Hey, you did the magic.

M: But you helped me. Unfortunately, I don't think you'd feel up to writing my paper for me.

Millie grinned at him, then shoved her things back in her bag, deciding to work on her homework later.

M: Y'know, if you wanted to, we could always hang out more. I don't see why everyone dislikes you so much - you're alright. It's just...well, I don't think Sirius or any of them would be very happy if they found out.

She got up and went to the water's edge as she said this, and squatted down to swirl her finger in the water, ignoring the pixies that fluttered up to tug her hair.

Regulus sent a jinx their way and followed her.

R: I completely agree. And for the record, you aren't that bad, either.

Millie watched as the pixies let out a high-pitched squeal, bared their sharp teeth at Regulus, and zipped away. She chuckled lightly, then smiled at his answer, turning her head up to look at him.

M: Really? Okay! Whenever you want to hang out, you know how to reach me.

She responded with a playful, almost cheeky wink, like she was flirting. Except not really, because anyone who knew Millie knew that she did not flirt smoothly.

M: And thanks, Darren.

R: You're welcome, Mollie.

M: You'd better get it right someday, otherwise we're going to have problems.

She poked his leg with the tip of her wand.

R: Sorry, Millie.

Regulus grinned and winked.

Millie didn't want to admit it, but the fangirling part of her -- which was, like, all of her -- might have melted at that wink.

M: Finally.

R: And my name is...?

M: Regu- lus!

Millie had straightened up and moved to turn around - except her foot got caught under one of the large tree roots in the ground. In one split second, she was jerked towards the water, and scrambled for something to grab onto, which was obviously Regulus. As a result, he was dragged with her, cliche and all.

M: Those damn tree roots!

She spluttered, looking vaguely like a wet cat.

Regulus closed his eyes.

R: Did you have to take me down with you?

M: I'm sorry, you- you were just there!

Realizing he was on top of her, Millie squeaked and shoved him off.

M: Sorry.

She repeated. After getting to her feet, she extended her wet hand to Regulus to help him up.

Regulus took it and stood up.

R: Thanks.

M: Yeah.

Millie looked positively mortified, and above all, miserable. She plucked her wand out of the dirt.

M: Siccio.

There was a hard gust of wind, and both of them were mostly dry, if a tad damp.

R: Thank you for that. I'm still irritated, by the way. I'll have to wash my fabulous hair again.

M: Oh, what a shame.

Millie's lips twitched. She caught movement out of the corner of her eye and jerked her head around, but saw nothing. She shrugged it off.

R: Mm, yes, shame.

M: Man up.

(no reply)

R: As you wish.

(Heh)

Millie smiled at him, then turned back to the bench, without tripping this time.

M: Do you plan on going to the Halloween event they've planned? Trick or treating?

R: Yeah, I was going to. You aren't asking me out are you?

Regulus smirked.
