LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN I mean what

Music played softly as the students milled around the gazebo, drinks in hands and chattering pleasantly. In one corner, Evangeline stood with Lily and Amy, a flute of Lumiere's Lemon balancing daintily on her fingers. As per usual, she had made herself look beautiful for the occasion. Dressed in a delicate aquamarine dress of some sateen, almost metallic fabric that seemed both stiff and fluid all at once, shaping her waist at the corset though the skirts moved gently as she walked. There was lace at the hem of the skirt, the join of the corset and skirt, and the neckline and sleeves, in a deeper hue than the dress itself. To protect her shoulders from the night chill, Evangeline had fastened a white fur stole with a silver pin, matching the silver at her throat, wrist and ears. Little silver heels clipped the floor as she walked, soft and quiet. Her hair was up in a fluffy bun atop the crown of her hair, fringe swept to the side and kept in place with Sleekeazy's Serum. Her lashes were tinted darker, framing her large and luminous eyes, her lips and cheeks a subtle pink that made her look positively kissable. How ironic. Smiling and laughing with her friends, she occasionally scanned the crowd for Sirius, or even James, Remus or Peter. Though curious as to their whereabouts as yet, she did not mar her pretty face with a frown, too intent on having just one lovely evening without conflict or harsh words.

Amy smoothed several stray hairs back into her slick ponytail, silently cursing her choice of dress and the cold air rose goosebumps on her forearms. It was a small sacrifice to look hot, though. Mid thigh length and a deep red material, the dress hugged her figure well and the lace that sprung up from the belt complemented it nicely. Her nails were painted a shimmering burgundy, the same shade pasted on her lovely full lips- though now they were twisted into a grimace. She couldn't spot her boyfriend or best friends anywhere, so clung to Evangelines company tight.

A: I am freezing.

Lily let out a laugh, tightening the ribbon that kept the asymmetrical cocktail dress tight to her waist. She too was feeling the cold, but hid it well, bouncing up and down on her heels, scouring the crowd for James with bright green eyes.

E: I told you you could have borrowed my little black bolero, but you said, and I quote, you wanted to 'flaunt what you've got'.

She smiled reprovingly, keeping her fur wrap tight around her shoulders.

E: I can accio it for you if you want? Or are you still being stubborn?

A: Stubborn.

She muttered, rubbing her hands together.

A: Sirius promised me firewhiskey and he better deliver.

Evangeline smirked and produced her wand from inside her wrap, casting a quick hot-air charm to get rid of Amy's goosebumps at least temporarily, then replaced her wand.

E: Did you see the headlines this morning? About the 'suspicious muggle disappearances'?

She worried her lip and caused some of the colour to rub off, but almost instantly it was filled in again. Thank goodness for Callista's Quick Colour Lippy.

Lily nodded.

L: It's awful.

Amy was about to say someithing when she looked up and saw one of her friends approaching.

A: Sirius!

He was dressed very well, hair swept back to one side, eyes shining with a charming glint. Despite this he seemed stressed, looking like he had somewhere else to be. He hid it well, however, smiling as he joined the trio.

S: Ladies!

E: You're thirty-five minutes late. Care to elaborate?

Though scolding, her tone was light and easy-going, more teasing than shrewd as she linked arms with him and kissed his cheek.

Sirius didn't want to tell her the real reason: he was briefing Remus on their escape plan for that night.

S: Got to look good for the ladies.

He grinned winningly, returning her kiss with his own peck to her forehead.

L: You two are so cute.

Lily cooed.

Evangeline giggled and rested her forehead against the side of his head.

E: Thanks, Lil. Where are the others?

Sirius shrugged, flicking a stray hair behind his ear.

S: James said something about 'last minute supplies'.

A: What about Lupin?

S: On his way, I'm sure.

He didn't seem too confident.

E: Did he seem a bit... what's the phrase? Ill, colour... off-colour, earlier?

Sirius scratched his neck nervously.

S: Flu, probably.

E: I hope he isn't contagious.

She pressed her lips together and looked at Amy.

E: Not that I'd be the one infected if he was.

Amy flushed deep violet and crossed her arms.

Sirius chuckled.

S: I'm sure he'll be here soon, then we can ask him.

Satisfied, Evangeline sipped her drink delicately.

E: Shall I get you a drink?

S: Yes please.

Having stalked off to the drinks table, Sirius was left in the clutches of the others.

Amy pulled Sirius aside.

A: Sirius this is slowing killing me. Please tell me you brought that firewhiskey.

Sirius rolled his eyes and grabbed his friends arm.

S: Even if I did, you are not consuming alcohol until someone can supervise you. We all remember your last birthday. You're not ruining this party with table dancing.

Amy groaned and pulled out of Sirius' grip.

A: This is not a party, it is a soirée. Why is Dumbledore here?

She looked over at the man, who smiled at her. She smiled back then whipped back round to face Sirius.

S: Dumbledore knows how to get down.

He waved at Dumbledore, but the headteacher had been distracted by some nicely decorated cakes.

That's so Dumbledore. Evangeline returned brandishing a glass of punch for Sirius just as James strolled over, doing the affected cool act he had practiced earlier when he noticed Lily.

Lily waved at him nervously.

Amy slung an arm round him and muttered.

A: Please tell me you brought the firewhiskey.

Sirius took his drink.

S: Remus okay?
